Council Meeting 3/28/2019

Tonight at the Council meeting we approved the 2019 budget and approved several planning items that came before Council. I attended a meeting earlier in the week to discuss the upcoming 2019 road repair program which is still currently under review. The proposal at the moment is the highest budget put to road improvements over the last several years and even exceeds the budget from last year. The repairs for 2019 should be defined and approved in April. Here is my summary from the meeting.

Council Meeting 3/18/2019

At tonight’s council meeting we discussed several issues:

We heard from Stow Municipal Courts on their proposed 2019 budget, both from the Judges side and the Clerk of Courts side. They do not foresee any issues with meeting their debt obligations in 2019.

Council Meeting 2/28/19

Last nights council meeting included a few updates and a few legislative items. My notes on each below:

The Tobacco 21 legislation had the 3rd and final reading last night. After voting the legislation failed 5-1. There were several high school students who attended and spoke in front of council about their opinions on the legislation. I commend these students for coming out and speaking up to have their opinions heard, they all did a wonderful job.

Last nights council meeting included a few updates and a few legislative items. My notes on each below:

Deputy Engineer Mike Jones provided an update on the 2018 storm water projects and plans for the 2019 storm water projects. Stow continues to invest in improvements to our storm water system to help alleviate storm water issues across multiple wards.

Council Meeting 1/24/19

City Council last night discussed several items and issues

Approval of zoning certificate for Baumann’s Florist to move to Darrow Road. Baumann’s has been in Stow for 39 years as of March and they are very happy to have found a new home in Stow.
