Council Meting 7/8/2021

Council officially returned to meeting in Council Chambers Thursday night where we approved the solicitation of bids for SKiP Playground, approved the hiring of a consultant for diversity training, approved the updates of several Council rules, and passed two Charter amendments for the November 2, 2021 ballot.   Click below to read my full notes.

Council Meeting 6/24/2021

Council met Thursday night and highlights include discussion of the 2022 budget being completed before the end of the year, hiring of an additional police officer, continued discussion of Council rule updates, and recent on-line behavior of a council person.  In exciting news, Council plans to return to Chambers on July 8, 2021 for our first in person in meeting!  Click below to read my full notes.

Regional Dispatch Update

I have heard a lot of mistruths and rumors that Stow City Council is holding up regional dispatch and I want to dispel those right now.  On Wednesday I had a wonderful opportunity to meet with several of the parties involved along with Chief Film and Mr. Feldman at the proposed location for the new center.  Overall, while a lot has gone into this project, the final details to present to Stow or any other city are just not ready yet.  We will have information on this visit as an update at our Council meeting next week, for more information now, you can read a full update on my blog.

Council Meeting 5/27/2021

Council met on Thursday for our committees and regular council meeting.  Highlights include the approval to move forward with the purchase of 36 acres of land across from Fox Den Golf Course, approval to replace the Deputy Planning Director, discussion of speed tables for traffic calming, and approval to add to our city ordinances the purpose and duties of our Parks & Recreation Board.  Click below to read my full notes.
